Providing some of the best views in the Eagle area, the Mount Thomas Trail takes hikers along the Red Table Mountain ridgeline. From the ridge hikers can see both north towardsSylvan Lake and Eagle, and south towards Reudi Reservoir and Aspen in the distance. However views are not limited to the ridgeline. The climb features staggeringly close views of Fools and Avalanche Peaks, as well as the entire backside of the New York Mountains. The hike is long, but as an out-and-back trail, users are able to turn around at any point. This hike is especially beautiful in the fall when leaves are changing.
Mt Thomas Trail brings hikers to one of the most impressive views of the valley. Hikers are rewarded after a climb with a view of everything from Sylvan Lake below to a distant Castle Peak. The climb offers constant views of Avalanche and Fools Peaks. The hike is long but views are immediate and hikers can turn around at any point.
