The program is hosted by the KSKE Ski Country radio on this Thursday, July 23rd and Friday, July 24th. The showdown will see the elimination of all contestants till there is one last and only standing artist who will walk away with the grand prize money of $100,000 and a chance to carve out a niche for her or himself in the Country Music scene.
Some of the few well known names from the contest at all 3 levels local, state and regional are: LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Sara Evans, Neal McCoy and Billy Ray Cyrus. As provided in the general information section the program will be held between 5:30 to 7 p.m., i.e. the time preceding the onset of the rodeo. The first level of the competition will be held on the 23rd with performance by 12 competitors. The next day i.e. on the 24th July, 6 of the contestants will be returning for a repeat performance and a winner will be selected from within them. This contest will select a local level winner who will be moving on to participate at the Copper Mountain in the Colorado state Labor Day weekend. Finally the winner selected at this level i.e. the state winner will finally go on to participate at one of the five regional events. And finally, the regional level winners will be receiving an all-expense-paid tour to the National Finals in Nashville and therefore an opportunity to compete for the aforementioned $100,000 prize money along with the position of the, “Best New Act in Country Music”.
