Friday, June 19 | Eagle River Park

This safety course is designed for youth, ages 10-15, who want a basic introduction to whitewater safety. Course will focus on the fundamentals of navigating the river safely.

What to expect? An outdoor classroom setting, instruction with a throw bag on-grass, then land to water. Alpine Kayak will provide the proper safety equipment: Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and helmet.

  • Session I: 9AM-12PM
  • Session II: 1PM-4PM

Only 10 kids each session. Please select one session. Price is $55 per child (price includes $10 waiver fee).

Safety instruction is led by Kyle Jessup, owner of Alpine Kayak. Kyle is an American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Level 4 Instructor.

Alpine Kayak will provide your child a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) and helmet.

Please bring the necessary items:

  1. Water shoes/Closed-toed shoes/Sandals with heel strap (no flip flops).
  2. Swimsuit, rash guard. Polyester clothing. Cotton is not your friend on the river.
  3. Towel, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
  4. Snacks
  5. At least a 32oz water bottle
