This safety course is designed for youth, ages 10-15, who want a basic introduction to whitewater safety. Course will focus on the fundamentals of navigating the river safely.
What to expect? An outdoor classroom setting, instruction with a throw bag on-grass, then land to water. Alpine Kayak will provide the proper safety equipment: Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and helmet.
- Session I: 9AM-12PM
- Session II: 1PM-4PM
Only 10 kids each session. Please select one session. Price is $55 per child (price includes $10 waiver fee).

Safety instruction is led by Kyle Jessup, owner of Alpine Kayak. Kyle is an American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Level 4 Instructor.
Alpine Kayak will provide your child a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) and helmet.
Please bring the necessary items:
- Water shoes/Closed-toed shoes/Sandals with heel strap (no flip flops).
- Swimsuit, rash guard. Polyester clothing. Cotton is not your friend on the river.
- Towel, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
- Snacks
- At least a 32oz water bottle
