Aug. 27, 2012 – The Town of Eagle recycle drop off center has been relocated and upgraded and is now open to the public. The new center is located at the Town of Eagle Public Works facility, 1050 Chambers Road, across from RSC Rental.
The new center includes larger containers for commingled and paper recyclables, which will reduce the frequency and cost of hauling materials to the Eagle County Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). The center also includes a cardboard compactor unit, eliminating the need for five dumpsters that were in place at the previous site.
Total cost of the relocation and upgrade of the recycle drop off site was approximately $150,000, which was split equally between the Town of Eagle and Eagle County.
The following materials are accepted at the new recycle drop off center:
Commingle:
- Aluminum beverage cans
- Plastic containers #1 through #7
- Tin and steel cans
- Glass bottles and jars
Paper:
- Newspaper
- Office paper
- Junk mail
- Old phone books
Cardboard:
- Corrugated cardboard
Plastic bags, food contaminated cardboard or paper, plastic or metal pipe or any plastic containers that do not have a #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, or #7 on the bottom cannot be recycled at the drop off center. Toys and baby items such as strollers and car seats are also not accepted at the drop off centers.
