Eagle’s Trails Open April 15th
New Singletrack Completes the Boneyard~ Ice Rink Loop
Eagle, Colorado(April 15, 2012) – With consistently sunny days and temperatures in the mid 70’s, mother nature has likely created the best opening conditions for Eagle’s trail system in history. The town’s mountain bike, hiking and equestrian trails are scheduled to open for the 2012 season on April 15th. Outdoor enthusiasts from across the state will enjoy access to Eagle’s 1,020 acres of Open Space. In turn, this Open Space allows access to thousands of additional acres managed by the BLM and Forest Service.
The Hardscrabble Trails Coalition also announced the opening of new singletrack, the Ski Hill Trail. This connector trail completes the Boneyard, Ice Rink Loop on single track and bike path, allowing users to stay on the dirt and avoid the pavement. “As a resident of the Bluffs neighborhood, the new Ski Hill Trail avoids potential vehicle safety issues on the roads. Thank you to the Hardscrabble Trails Coalition and The Town of Eagle for making this happen.” said Scott Schlosser, HOA President.
The trails namesake was an actual ski area with two trails, the Eagle Ski Hill. The steep rope tow was moved from a more remote location for easier access to the community. The run lengths were 500 feet. Season passes were $5 for adults and $2,50 for children.
Eagle’s trails are truly unique to the area. Hikers and bikers will likely find cactus, aspen groves and pine forests all within one hike. For more information on Eagle’s trail system visit EagleOutside.com
