Special Event Permit Application

Special Events are what make our community unique! In order to hold an event on Town property, you will need to go through the Special Event process. A special event permit is required for any event that meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • 200 or more people in attendance
  • Alcohol will be consumed
  • One or more streets are requested to be closed
  • The event will utilize amplified sound
  • Multiple vendors
  • The event has a significant impact on the community
  • SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION is required 60 days prior to the event.

Important Information:

  • You will be required to have insurance and name the Town as an additionally insured party.
  • For special events involving vendors, it is the responsibility of the event organizer to understand the special event vending requirements. Please visit Eagle County Mobile Vendors for more information.
  • If you wish to have alcohol at your event, contact the Town Clerk at least 45 days prior to the event. Email clerk@townofeagle.org.
  • Additional permitting may be required for Extra Duty Law Enforcement, Vendor Licensing, Liquor Permit.

SPECIAL EVENTS FUNDING  – Opening Fall 2026

The Marketing and Events Advisory Committee (MEAC) is accepting applications for 2026 Special Events that align with MEAC’s objectives and support their strategic goals.

  • Enhance the sense of community for Eagle residents by providing opportunities for connection.
  • Balance the quality of life for residents with the need for vitality in our business community.
  • Support events and programs that showcase and protect our unique character, traditions, and resources.
  • Support cultural events and programs that promote diversity.
  • Create clear, concise, and consistent event marketing and communications.
  • Actively collaborate with community partners and stakeholders.

Community Grant Program – opening Fall 2026

The Town of Eagle accepts applications for community programs from organizations that are educational and enrichment programs. Programs will foster a strong sense of community and enhance the quality of life for residents and guests.  Programs will promote leadership development, provide cultural and positive health and well-being opportunities to the community. The overall intent of this program is to provide financial support to programs that benefit our community. Application process closed for 2025.

Community Grant Applications are reviewed on an annual basis. Grant funding is prioritized and approved through our annual budgeting process. Grant funding is at the complete discretion of Town Council. Town Council will take final action on the 2025 budget in December, 2024. Applicants may receive full funding, partial funding or no funding. The Town reserves the sole right and discretion to determine the level of funding for all community grant applications.

ELIGIBILITY

Applications must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible: 

  1. The application must propose a service or program that is offered to and benefits the Eagle community, including residents and businesses.
  2. Grant requests may not exceed $10,000 per organization.
  3. Grant funds may not be used for political or religious purposes.
