Whitewater Rafting
The Eagle River stretch between Wolcott and Eagle is most popular amongst anglers. The stretch is rocky and especially at low water levels requires some technical maneuvering skills. This section runs through Red Canyon and offers gorgeous views from a unique perspective.
Put-in
Wolcott Campground – Wolcott Campground is the easiest put-in along this stretch of the Eagle River. The site is complete with restrooms and plenty of parking.
Take-Out
Chambers Park-Eagle – Chambers Park is located along the frontage road in Eagle. The site has a primitive boat ramp and is the only take-out above Rodeo Rapid. There is also plenty of parking available.
Be sure to exit the river at the Chambers Park take out. Failing to do so, you run the risk of running the dangerous class IV rapids immediately downstream called “Rodeo Rapids”.
