The Amazing Race in Eagle Ranch
Saturday, September 19, 2020
2:00pm start time at Colors Coffee Roasters
A casual, open-to-all, social, semi-competitive treasure hunt, in and around Eagle Ranch taking about 2 hours with 10 Pit Stops.
Maximum 20 Teams, of 2-6 people (max.) Families (parents and kids) and costumes encouraged. First come first served! REGISTER NOW (we are filling up fast! Teams with any member under 13 must include an adult (18 or older).
Human-powered transport ONLY – bikes and scooters (not electric), skate boards, … Shanks’ pony (= your feet!)
The course is approximately 5 miles around Eagle Ranch mostly on bike paths. With 5-10 minutes at each Pit Stop it should take between 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours 15 minutes to complete.
Teams will solve Clues that lead to each of 10 Pit Stops where they will complete ‘challenges’ before solving the next Clue and moving to the next Pit Stop. Clues will be simple, poetic and engaging, but one or two will be more cryptic.
Teams will take a photo and text it to Amazing Race HQ, to confirm successful completion of each Challenge.
Points will be awarded for each Challenge completed, for finishing under 2 hours, for creativity (in the photos taken) and for having a young team member (we don’t want the fast youngsters to have an unfair advantage!)
Finish at Color Coffee with beverages and music.
Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and best team costumes.
Branded buffs (neck gaiter – see it?!) will be provided for each team member and volunteer.
Entry Fee – $25 per team (non-refundable), payable to/at Color Coffee Roasters. Payment secures your place!
(Saturday) 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
